I do not think that a character is completely separate from his parts. Yes, there are certain situations that are different but for the most part there has to be some sort of connection to the character. I believe that when you are looking for roles and are researching a role you have been asked to play, you have the choice as to what you would like to portray and there is always a chance to say no. I know that actors and actresses make a ton of money in movies and sometimes they could be doing it just for the money, but in doing that they are still supporting how the producer is making this film and they have the option to say no. Also, you wouldn’t take a part that you are not interested in, even if you are just a tad bit interested.
